RE: [T3] Egads!! RJs tales of air-cooled weirdness keep on trucking.


It can't be the starter because that would make the engine turn the
proper way, clockwise.  I would think it has to be electircal and the
only thing electircal that can act as a motor itself is the generator (
that would explain why it ran counterclockwise).  There some funkiness
b/w the generator, voltage regulator, and/or some relay under the dash.
If the regulator got screwed up and started sending the current the
other way (back to the generator, instead of the battery) then the
generator would act like a motor and if the battery has enough juice it
can turn the engine.  However, if this was the case, then the red light
should stay on, even with the ignition off.  Does that happen?
