Well, I do not know whether to be happy or sad. Next owner is coming to get the red 66 squareback. We worked together to get it running (yay!) Intermittent connection on spark plug #1 (NEW BOSCH wire, how bizarre!), the mixture screw was completely OUT of the right carb (!) but we found it on the manifold, with a magnet. The cutoff for the right carb still doesn't work, never has. Never found one, despite the good leads from the list and from local shops. Maybe you have 12v chokes and cutoffs for 32PDSIT. Let's see, what else was wrong? The valves were real tight, what's that about? I had set them religiously at .006 and had only driven about 6 weeks or 1,000 miles, and most of the out valves were very tight. And the #1 and #4 intake valves were tight also. I thought valves tended to loosen if they did anything. New owner is getting good heads to put on there anyway, so no big deal. Unless the problem is lifters :-> Oh well. Selling it to somebody who will sell it back to me rust-repaired, painted, and "SewFine'd" :-) It's likely to come back as a 12v with all the 6v parts in a box. So it's a good deal at any selling price, right? So far, I still have the '69 Westfalia, but a prospective buyer indicated that I might get my asking price, so I may be VW-less in just a day or two. Probably not for long though. Some fastback or splitty doublecab will appear at a neighbor's house or something :-) -- g-r-a-t-e-f-u-l-l-y---[ email:<fishbowl@conservatory.com> ]---l-i-v-i-n-g d-e-a-d-i-c-a-t-e-d---[ http://www.conservatory.com/ ]-----l-i-g-h-t ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
