You should never lose seals to the oil cooler.  If you are there is 
something wrong.  I would suggest that you have one, or more, of the 
following problems:  Wrong seals, there are early and late coolers 
and blocks they require different seals and if you mix them up you 
need a special adaptor seal.  You (and GEX) need to know what 
you're doing when you choose which seals you use.  Even the Bentley 
manual does not get this completely right.

If you mean that the engine came with the integral pump cover and 
filter base, then this is a sign of ignorance.  Of course this does 
not work with the Type 3 engine, but it is even a worse sign than 
just that.  That design puts the filter in the hot air exhaust stream 
and causes overheating of the engine.  Not a good sign from your 
engine builder.

Do you have an early or late block, ditto the cooler?  Do you have 
the Bentley manual?  Have you studied it?

There is no substitute for doing your own homework.  No one else will 
ever care as much about your car as you do.
