I f this guy could sell that for $3,000, I You mean it sold for $3,000? I think you mean he's *asking* $3,000. I have yet to see any classified newspaper that guarantees you'll find a buyer at your asking price! I once talked to someone who had a '68 Westy camper for sale. She had paid a couple of thousand for it a few years ago. Put a lot of miles on it. Did the brakes a couple of times--so that jacks up the price a couple of hundred. Had rebuilt the engine, her first rebuild--another couple of hundred bucks increase on the asking price. Oh--never mind that it was now throwing oil & overheating, she still expected to recover the cost of that previous rebuild. The bus was from California, but was showing the first signs of midwest rust. I was starting to wonder if she was going to add up all of her old gas receipts to "recover" what she had "put in" to the vehicle! She was up way over $4,000 for what was *maybe* a $1,500-$2,500 bus. If you can sell your car for $2,000 or $3,500 or $35,000, more power to ya! Just don't confuse "asking price" with "selling price" or "market value." :) Good luck! -Greg '69 & '71 Squarebacks '63 Beetle
