As to leaded race fuel. Here in the grand state of Washington we don't even think about aviation fuel because race fuel can be bought at the local Unocal (Union 76) station. You can pump 100 octane unleaded straight into your tank. The real treat is the availability of 110 octane(!) leaded automotive racing fuel. It is illegal to dispense into a street going vehicle at the station, so you have to bring your own containers, and at almost $5.00 a gallon, it's not cheap. Still this quality of fuel would allow old school compressions of 10:1 with no more ping than an unleaded car running at 7.5:1 more than likely. Hope this little tidbit brings a few tire smoking smiles. Kenik Hassel 71 fastback
