Oooh, asbestos undies in place- I've used decent quality 'racer' manual (not electric) gauges (Auto meter, but others make comparable units) and have found that they DO offer advantages over the stock gauges. They respond faster to engine conditions, and aren't affected by electrical gremlins. In a (non type- 3), my oil p. meter saved my newly rebuilt engine- I was losing pressure under severe braking, and the stock (VDO) gauges weren't catching the blips... But, they're usually pretty ugly as there's no really clean location for mounting, and the stock gauges aren't bad, really... Toby "my 2c" Basiliko John T.
