Hi there. I am new to this list as I am to Type 3 ownership recently as well. I have had other type 3's before (notch, fastback, and 2 type 3 ghias) but that was some time ago. But this is my first squareback and is the nicest VW I have ever owned in my opinion. I was surfing the net one day when a bit of mail dropped into my box froma VW mailing list. I checked it out immediately and followed up on what I saw. The result was a one owner (89 year old lady), low mileage, all original, always garaged, rust and accident free, meticulously maintained, 67 Squareback. The car is not perfect but is as virgin as can be. The paint shines as good as new and has been on the car for 30 years! The chrome is bright, the interior clean (a little carpet wear and one crack in the dash pad) and it runs like a top. Along with the car came a very fat folder full of every record of anything ever done to the car from day one. This is the type of find I have heard of and read about in the magazines but never figured it would happen to me. This car will be a great resource for anyone restoring a type 3 of the same vintage because everything is correct. If anyone out there wants to know anything, just let me know, I will be glad to help. The only thing I am looking for is a set of floor mats (coco mats?) to cover the carpet in the front. If anyone has some that they want to sell or a suggestion as to where to go, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks! Happy Motoring!
