Hi all, I was in the same situation and this is what I did. I went and got a foot (the minimum that they would sell) of strap material from the mountain climbing section of a local sporting goods store. This stuff is super strong and works really well. I got plain black but you could get some pretty radical color if you'd like. Just trim it to length and burn a hole thru it with a hot nail (it is made out of some kind of nylon), and screw it on. What is nice is that it will lay flat and will not break from being worked/bent like plastic does. Ray '66 Sq Charles E.
