Tow it backwards if you must but I would highly recommend you trailer it completely (all four wheels off the ground) because wear is wear. If you travel the distance with a pair of wheels on the ground then the parts will gain that extra mileage. Just be sure to disconnect the speedometer cable so it won't mess up your odometer ("odo meter", what a funny name for a distance measuring device). I've had my baby towed with front wheels on the ground (like when my recently deceased tranny went...) and there's nothing for you to worry about.
