Hi. I found a '66 Fastback in a "local" junkyard on Sunday, complete with stock engine, exhaust, glass, etc.. Pretty exciting, time to load up on 6-volt parts! :) I currently have a Single Quiet Pack exhaust and want to return my '65 Squareback to its stock glory by putting the '66 exhaust back on (my '65 has a '66 1600 in it so I assume the exhaust is a perfect match). Before I go pull the exhaust off, I want to make sure I get ALL the parts necessary. Could someone give me a short list of what to pull so I get all of it in one trip? Here's the parts I know of: Exhaust Preheater hose on passenger side Little connector elbows from the fan shroud to the exhaust/heat exchanger Exhaust tip Hose from carb intake to ? (this might be missing since the carbs are gone) On a side note, has anyone else noticed that the Single Quiet exhaust header seems to be dangerously close to the air intake bellows? I got a "new" one from the junkyard on Sunday for my Square and the old one was totally gone where the exhaust header travels from the heads and then crisscrosses directly under the rear bellows. Thanks, Everett Barnes '65 Squareback 1500 S w/'66 1600
