FI Question

Greetings from Oregon:

I'm new to the group and want to see the kinda of response out there.

I've been working with a friend's son on a '68 stationwagon with FI.
Problem is it won't start. I've adjusted the values, set the timing,
checked for spark, and run all the electrical test with an VOM that Muir
suggests in his book. Today we pulled the injectors. Injectors 1, 3, and
4 put out health sprays; injector 2 -> nothing! Could this be the
problem? The engine sounds like it's firing, spits out some smoke, but
won't catch.

Another thing that's bothering me is how brittle some of the wires are
on the FI system. I didn't find any shorts, but with the condition of
the wires I'd expect one soon if the engine got heated up.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. This is a low budget project, so a
carb swap or major FI component replacement aren't in the cards.
