Re: To Pertronix or not to Pertonix, that is the question

Steve, here's the info I have on the Pertronix setup. I have one of
their units installed in my squareback with fuel injection right now. I
will never use points again in this car. The pertronix pickup is easy
to install and once it's in and set up, you never have to touch it
again. I have also used the pertronix in a friend of mine's class 9 off
road racer with a 1907cc engine also and it runs a lot smoother with the
pertronix than with the points. Just be sure you hook up the two wires
properly, or you WILL cook the pickup (expensive lesson), but it's also
warrenteed for 30 months, so you can return it for a new one (just don't
point out that you wired it wrong). The correct part number for the
F.I. model is 1842. This works with the short cap for F.I. and contains
everything you need. I got mine from N.O.P.I., in Georgia. Their
number is 1-800-277-6674, and I think it cost about $65.00. Don't even
bother calling Pertronix directly, they wanted about $125.00 for it
directly, but at least they can verify the part numbers for you. Hope
this helps.
