Re[2]: Front seat removal and the need for shop manuals.


This is covered in the shop manuals that every one should have if they plan on 
ever working on their car themselves.  Minimally the Idiot's Guide by John Muir 
and either a Haynes or Bentley.  For those who have the pre-fuel injected 
classics the Haynes is the better shop manual as it covers carbs and the (very) 
little known fact about a caster wedge (thicker torsion housing collar) for the 
front beam of the early model T3.

Volks, the manuals are less than $40 *new* and pay for themselves the first time
you perform your own work.  Get a used one if you are really scraping for 
change, but for heaven's sake get at least one.

WOW, so that's how it's done. I've had my FB ten years and just accepted
the fact that my passenger seats was never gonna move again...
