	I've been looking for them for quite some time myself. As far as I
understand, the "problem" is that side markers were never mandatory in the
US and, hence, the cars supplied directly were not dressed with them.
Since we all know what is the state of the aftermarket industry in other
parts of the world, the bottom line here is:  since you folks in the US
don't need them, you don't manufacture them and we take all the suffering.
:-) 

At the moment I'm aware of only one possible source: Stiftung Automuseum
VW in Wolfsburg. And I doubt that I'm going to use their services. See for
yourself, quote:
