I have a '71 SB made in April, it has the slots(no weldments, though). Not a big deal to cut slots if you don't have them. There's no way of knowing without pulling a window, though. I could swear I saw '72s in the scrapyard with slots in the doorposts. If you don't have the hinge slots, you could go ahead and cut them in. The biggest problem I had was fabricating something to hold the latch end on the divider post securely, had to fabricate a plate to go inside the post to take the latch screws. You don't want that shifting! You can take out the plastic plug up at the top and fish things up the post with a wire, that's how I did it. Have to take the trim panels off to do that, off course. Make sure you have all the pieces all there before you start, I ended up replacing the rubber, wasn't that fun to find! Didn't have the latch screws either. Theres some plastic boot type covers for the hooks on the hinge ends, someone posted where to find replacements awhile back. Good luck, have fun!
