It's the dipstick tube for those who use the engine case for an upright
application. You can plug it off using a stock Type I dipstick.

Hi Everybody,
My longblock arrived this morning, and I've got another dumb question for
you. What is the thin metal tube on the right side of the engine right above
where the dipstick tube bolts on (On my existing engine, not original, this
tube has been crimped off)? If it helps, I think that this is a universal
case as I haven't found an engine number on it.
Thanks.
