Hey Keith, are you talking about the problem where the 'hockey stick'
pops out of position?  I've seen that happen on my friend Jim's drag
car, with the swingaxle, but the shifter was locked up, as though it
were stuck in gear.  I think I had the opposite happen with a '72
convertible I once owned, where the shifter was just floppy, and the
shift coupling under the seat was fine.  Is it possible that the shift
rod (hockey stick) has broken, and could just be replaced?
