Hmm, not a bad idea, sounds sane to me... Can anyone shed some brighter light on this subject? Specifically, the current draw required for a 12v motor and suppliers of such compressors (and related A/C parts?). Any other "things you should know"? Toby "I have a 50A alternator so maybe..." Author: type-3-errors@umich.edu at SMTPGATE Date: 11/26/97 7:40 AM I have though about this a little. Install the AC in the front, in place of the spare tire (you've got to feel lucky, right?). Perhaps modification of one of those very small window-mount room A/C units, rewired for 12vDC. A little research would show how large an electric motor would be required, then how much the charging system would have to be upgraded (there is no free lunch -- you'd still be pulling down several horsepower when in use). Lets say you use a jumbo alternator...
