Sorry to copy the whole group, but didnt see your email address anywhere.
I once used an adjustable pushrod tube on a 71 Bus I had. Very easy to 
install and only took about 15 minutes. Great temporary fix. I admit I 
kept it in place for about 20K miles. (Ok, I now they're not supposed to 
last that long, but it was working so well, why mess with it?).
It even survived a cross country trip!
Anyway, they are held in place with spirng pressure and work fine till 
you can fix it right.
