RandallM=> What constitutes "strike damage", that is, where do you draw
=> the line on restore or part out?
There's nothing you can do if you fall in love with the thing, and more
power to you, but if you want to be hard-headed I'd say be patient and
keep looking for a straight, no-rust car. Replacing a front fender, door
or lid is not a huge deal, but stay away from a car that's been hit hard
enough to bend anything else. I love T3s as well as anyone here, but
let's face it, serious bodywork of any kind means putting more into the
car than it's likely to be worth, and there are plenty of good cars
around that need saving. Save the money for paint. (Two cents here from
someone who didn't look closely enough at a purchase and wound up
spending eight months and I don't even wanna *know* how much bread on
bodywork; your mileage will vary according to your proximity to a
salt-road state.)
