Air Vent Cover, '67 Sqbk update

Two of my kids & I got ambitious last weekend.
We waxed the '67 Squareback! I twiddled with
the engine and verified that it hadn't seized!
Installed the chokes (thanks Tim) and cleaned
out the black widow egg cases in the engine bay.
It's been sitting for 6 years, so that was VERY
good news, that it turned over.

I cleaned out the front air vents of the huge
accumulation of leaves and gunk, and have
been wracking my brain as to how to keep
stuff from getting in there. Tape leaves a
messy residue, a piece of plywood needs to
be attached somehow, etc.

Finally found a solution. Sign shops make
magnetic signs to go on the side of cars!
I stopped by, got some material for $4 and
with the use of scissors trimmed the material
to cover the vent holes. Probably will stay in
place while driving too! Can't verify that, yet.

Easily removable, non damaging, & can be painted
to match the body color (for the ambitious).

For my '67 they were a little short but quite useable.
Measure first then buy. For a '67 you need about
14" x 4" each. Trim for windshield wiper arm.

Same would apply for covering the side vents for
those in more harsh environments than I (foothills
of California).

Seeing the polished Sqbk in the driveway everyday
REALLY makes me want to get it running! Even
if the hood is red/rust and the remainder is blue.

BTW, not on the email list, waiting for digests.
