Increasing the rate of air intake beyond this will give you a lean mixture, as the air flow meter can't measure the increase. K-Jet, or CIS, measures air flow much better and is a lot more tolerant of permormance enhancements (cams, displacement, etc.). If you're going to get into fabrication, I'd think of borrowing from a Golf.
