Well, people things are still at standstill as to why this car of mine (71 Square FI) won`t start. In response to Jim, from your list of helpful hints here are the results: Ignition is not the problem. Spark is reaching all cyls. Nothing is grounding where it`s not supposed to. Pulled the brain and ran all the checks you suggested. One curious note; after checking the ground side of the fuel injector plugs,I got continuity, which is correct. Then I checked the other terminal, each one back to the correct corresponding terminal on the brain. Each one checked out as per schematic. Then I checked corresponding terminals of injector plugs 1,2,3 or 4 again, but this time instead of touching it back to the brain as in my last sentence I went to ground. They all made continuity. Is this normal? I have no schematic of the brain so I can only guess. All voltage checks from starter are correct, 12v. I know that for an internal combustion engine not to run the problem can only be spark, compression or fuel. I`m betting its an electrical problem relating to the fuel injection. When you turn the key to fire the engine, it will fire for a second and then thats it. The throttle switch works as I can hear the injectors making the clicking sound. When I turn the engine on to the run position, and then floor the throttle 4 or 5 times, when it fires, it lasts just a bit longer indicating to me the cyls. have just a bit more fuel in them. I`ve tried hotwiring the fuel pump with a switch, so I can turn it on manually(in fact this is how I`ve run the car the last 40,000 miles)so I know fuel is available to the injectors. Its just not allowed to enter for some reason!! Please don`t suggest a new fuel pump relay, its got one. Any comments? I`m stumped. Bill Falkenbach
