What do you mean by "...every gear i put it in felt as though i was still in
neutral."? Did you put the car in gear, release the clutch, then give it gas
and the car just doesn't move? Please give more detail.
I had a problem like the one above -- the splines on the left wheel, where the
axle connects, had smoothed out, thus the axle was spinning but there were no
splines connecting it to the wheel.

I was coming off the freeway and i came to a stop, when the light turned
green i put it in first and i heard a BONK and felt a vibration at my feet
(transmission?) Then every gear i put it in felt as though i was still in
neutral. How serious does this sound? A new transmission? Any help would be
so appreciated. Thanks.
