Well, I've never heard of such a thing and not a soul in this list has even
remotely hinted at such an 'option', so... Either it was the dealer who
offered such an option or the previous owner (PO) pulled a fast-one on ya.
My guess would be to check out the rims and look for the traditional VW
stamped into the rim (Jim A., ya think it'd have a part number?).
To determine if they're aluminum or not take a magnet and see it if sticks
to the rim; if it does stick you know it's steel and not aluminum. I can't
imagine an optional wheel package including aluminum rims on a family car,
let alone a '70s station wagon!

3. Since I am the second owner, I was wondering if anybody has seen the
type of mag wheels that I have. They were part of the option package the
original owner purchased. They are 5 spoke, aluminum alloy I think. Are
they worth anything or worth keeping?
