I inquired to this list some time ago on this very subject, and the
replies were mixed. Some folks made a good case for the inherent
strengths of Fiberglass (rustproof, strong, light, 'glueable' [no
welding]) while others made a slightly more compelling case against them
(difficulty in bonding glass to steel, non-originality, soundproofing).
Someone noted that the Ghia is similar in width to the T3, and a good
set of Ghia 1/4 pans in the hands of a talented body guy (or gal) will
get you real close to just right without patching in a 'foreign'
material.
