Jim,
I'm not lost.  The numbers were stamped on back of the engine under the oil
breather and directly in front of the fan shroud on the right half of the
case near where the 2 halves join.  There are no discernable numbers on the
top of the engine on either side.  This is a dual carb.  Previous owners and
repair shops did some unusual things to this car, and this being my first T3,
I'm learning as I proceed.  Hopefully I can fix what they've done and move on
toward my first resto. Thanks for the input.
