I saw a Square at a show this weekend that had been converted to carbs and
asked them "any problems with the carbs?" they said no despite the engine
being covered with oil, blown everywhere, probably from a piston burned through
or cylinder galled out from running too lean.

Moral?: if you run carbs make sure there set up right,  these engines
wont forgive you for running too lean!
