Hi. An acquaintance of mine has a '65 Variant S in his backyard that he disassembled approx. 2 years ago to paint/restore/etc.. Well, now it has to go or else (according to his dad), so he wants to know what sort of price he should ask for it. It had a good running, original 6V 1500, dual carb motor (S model) (when he parked it) and almost all of the Variant parts are there - 2-piece door panels, long arm rests, seats, fenders w/side marker lights, etc.. It has a little rust in the lower front fenders but the car has no pan rust and has been sitting in a dry area. It needs to be completely reassembled, interior-wise - seats, gauges, some wiring, panels. Some interior parts are not in top condition (dash, rear panels, a few other things) but they are better than many I've seen. Any guesses on what a good asking price would be? Any one want to buy it to fix up? Or maybe just buy some parts? If he doesn't get rid of it soon, I'm going to buy it and part it out. If anyone wants parts from it, let me know as I'd like to have as much stuff as possible "pre-sold" if I buy it from him. It is located near me - I'm in Concord, CA, midway between Oakland/San Francisco and Sacramento. Bye, Everett Barnes http://ebus.simplenet.com/Volkswagen ebus@ebus.simplenet.com
