I have been following the progress of Sewfine's T34 interiors since the
owner told us 2 years ago that he had bought a '66 T34 and was planning to
reproduce the interiors. I like their work for the most part but I wouldn't
buy door panels from them unless I had no other choice because they don't
have a heat seamer and sew the door panels up instead. I visited their
facility when I was out there on vacation and was impress by the detail that
goes into making their patterns.

But if you are looking for strictly original colors then you will be
somewhat disappointed because, as far as I know, the original carpet color
is just not available anymore. Type 3 Ghias used the same square weave
carpet material as Porsche did. The correct color for you car is called
Lava. It is a very dark gray but when you put it next to Sewfine's samples
the closest match is to the black square weave. Two things make the
original different from their gray carpet - it is darker and also has a
brownish tint to it.

Black leatherette was one of 3 choices available for your Pearl White (L87)
car. The other 2 were Brick Red leatherette and silver beige with red cloth
inserts. Silver beige was also an option for the headliner at that time. I
think you should shop around a little for the headliner. It is made by TMI
and your local VW store (if you have one) should be able to order it for you
for less than the $80 that Sewfine offers.

You can see a good example of what was available for your car in the color
and upholstery section of the Karmann Ghia Club of North America web site at:
