I am in the UK... based in Portsmouth, Hampshire... My Type 3 has been sat in the car park for the last 11 days whilst I have been on a course..... bit nervous about starting it, as something strange happened 2 weeks ago before I left it there.... let me tell you a little story... There I was cruising along at about 70mph along the motorway on a lovely sunny afternoon in my shiny FB, when what should happen but I should here a spluttering coming from the back of the car... at first I thought a bit of trim was hanging off, and rattling against the floor, so I pulled over... as I dropped the revs, the spluttering stopped.... I could not determine the cause of the problem on the motorway siding, so I carried on at a low speed, and did not hear the problem again.... however, since then I have determined 2 things... 1) This only happens at high(ish) revs... e.g. 45mph in 3rd, or 60mph in 4th.. 2) It only *seems* to happen when the engine is warm to hot.. Being a complete clutz when it comes to anything mechanical, I am stumped... .the engine is still under guarantee from a recent (Feb) rebuild.... what do people suggest??? Help. Jay. '72 Fastback
