Hi All, So far we feel like we're the senior citizens of the group--just proves T-3's and maybe VW's in general have a wide age range following. Of course, that's obvious when you go to shows/races, too. We purchased our first VW's as a young family. We bought a new '71 Beetle for Gunnar to zip back and forth to work in and a new '71 Bus as the family "van". We had three little stair-step girls by then and the bus was great. I always had a port-a-crib on the back deck for the youngest to sleep in. We had the "Z" seat in the back so as they grew, we could turn the whole back into a bed for them to sleep on. That was especially great when traveling or returning from an outing. They could all pass out after a busy day. Well, times have changed and you can't do that any more. I know the children are probably safer in their car seats these days, but I think ours were more comfortable. In '76 & '77 two little boys were added to our family, so as you can imagine we really did get alot of good out of that bus! We've had other cars since, but held on to the VW's, too. We've had three Beetles that the various kids have driven and have since gone by the wayside. Our oldest son had his first one stolen while he was working at a local fast food restaurant. It was found several days later out in the desert here. Well stripped of course! Gunnar got our '69 Beetle from the original owner. We bought our '67 Squareback from an acquaintance the fall of '86. Our middle daughter was going away to college and dad was going to fix it up for her. Well, dad was traveling alot at the time so the SQBK sat. Finally, in '95 he got it up and running. Now it's my daily drive and I love it!!! We have lived most of our married lives in the Sunnyvale-San Jose, CA area. We moved to Palmdale, CA in 1992. Gunnar is an engineer and works for Lockheed. He's been on assignment back east for over a year now, so I snail-mail him the e-mail. He will be able to contribute more when he's back closer to our computer and is anxious to do so. He does enjoy reading the list, though-- for now. That's All Volks! Gunnar and Kathy Will Palmdale, CA '67 Squareback '69 Beetle '71 Beetle '71 Bus
