Hello all! My name is Jim Bridges, I currently reside in Jacksonville, FL. Married w/3 kids, 11/F, 9/F, 14 mos/M. Two vehicles, 96 Dodge Grand Caravan (a great vehicle) and a 1971 Squareback (my pride and joy), totally stock, daily driver, waiting to be restored. Currently looking for a job. My volkswagen experience: have owned two, my first a 1973 superbeetle, which I turned into my personal "road rocket" when I was 16. 1800cc, dual carbs, trick everything, the works. Death by bad accident...I came out okay, my car did not. My second, the current squareback. I've never responded to the group, but have learned a lot over the past couple of months. When I feel I can make a worthwhile contribution to questions, I will respond. ---------- From: WALTEE Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 1997 5:01 PM To: type-3@umich.edu Subject: I was just wondering... I had originally sent this e-mail to Greg Merritt as a way of seeing if anyone would like to share a little personal information with each other. I've been communicating on this list for a few months now, and although I have read and replied to messages to alot of you, as well as posting a few of my own, I feel like I don't really know much about any of you. So, at the risk of being retentive, I would like to invite anyone who would like to send up a few lines about themselves, stats, and or interests. I understand that some folks would just as soon stay anonymous, and I can respect that. I'll even throw mine in first, for opening my big mouth. My name is David Walters, I'm 37, and I live in Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA and I have a '73 Notchback. I am married, my wife is named Lori, and we have two kids, Zachary, who is 6, and Alyssa, who is 2. I have been a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Miami, Florida for the past seven years. I'm also a Rescue Specialist with the South Florida Urban Search and Rescue Task Force II, part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. I've owned six VW's so far, including two '69 Beetles, two Squarebacks, A '65 Notch, and the '73 Notch. I also have a '92 Harley Davidson Sportster and a Ford Aerostar that belongs to my wife. My wife doesn't care for the Notch, nor do I care for her Ford, although I've replaced at least 90% of the Ford's parts at one time or another. Hopefully, I'll get the "rust"-eration on the '73 done in the near future, then post pics of it for all to see. Thanks for the vent space. David Walters '73 Notch
