  hello everybody, my name is kelly buffum and i am the queen of the
lurkers.  It's not that i didn't have any questions or anything, because
i do - it was the fact that i didn't know what address to send my mail
to.  I'm really not as stupid as i sound.  I sent one to greg m's
personal address once (sorry pal).  But today i went to the type III page
on the net that he has, and it said where to send mail to the people on
the list, so here goes.....
  I am 20 years old and live in Mililani, Hawaii, about 20 minutes
outside of honolulu.  I own a 71 Fastback automatic, that i bought in
february, and i wouldn't trade it for the world.  Its in such great
condition, and i believe that i got a great deal on it for $2000.  There
is no rust, the interior is in great condition ( a couple of small holes
in the headliner, and drivers seat ), the odometer reads 70,000 but
doesn't work, it was garaged for over 10 years, original paint, and i'm
the 3rd and final owner.   I know that some of you guys have scored big
on your cars, but don't burst my bubble if you think i could've gotten a
better deal.
  Anyhoo, the best thing about living in hawaii is that there are so many
volkswagens tooling around, and if you keep your eyes peeled you can
catch some pretty rare ones.  I have always been a big fan of the VW ever
since forever, and i used to live in New Hampshire - where on a good day
you would be lucky to spot a bug, much less anything else.
   I hope nobody nodded off in the middle of reading this.  I'm done, but
now that i know how, i will be back - whether you like it or not.
