Hello out there in Type-3 land

I was wondering if any body in this club is located in southern
California and how it works out to drive with the heat and freeways. 
I was also wondering how I should rebuild my engine if I was going to
move down there.  If anyone could help me out then that would be
great.  See I am going off to college next year down to the L.A. area
and my mom keeps telling me that I will have to sell my car and I
really don't want to.  If anyone can give me a few tips than thanks
