People have sent me updates on lowering by squareback and left some tire
suggestions. I spent some time (2 months) researching tires. A few of
you 914's know about the old continental 175/60 15's that were sold a
few years ago. Michelen makes(out of production but still in the
wherehouses around the country) a 175/70/15 that is wonderfull. It has
a smooth ride unlike 50-55 tyres ride like rocks, that short sidewall
doesn't have and spring to it that why they are for speed in excess of
120mph. The tyre balloons like radila are supposed to. The 175 is 24.8
inches tall. Stock gearing size 165 is 25.3. Not much of a speedo
change.
I am running the 175 up front and a 185/65 in the rear. Stock gearing
size for running the fan.

Other sizes. 195/ 65 25", 195/60 24.2" 195/50 22.7" I have lots of tyre
info.

1st vw 69 squareback.
