You can get a kit from Gene Berg for $10-12(several years back) that
has the relay and some miscellaneous connectors and lengths of wires,
plus full instructions, or buy a three terminal Ford starter
relay(cheap) and just the instructions and save a few bucks. If your
starter is bad, it won't help that at all. I put one in because my
ignition switch contacts were all chewed up and I didn't want the same
to happen to my new, high-priced replacement('71 Squareback). I'd
pull the starter and clean it up or replace it first, then go put in
the relay. It does help in extreme conditions, plus your iginition
switch lasts longer. The last(and only, so far) starter I bought was
about $35, rebuilt, from the local chain auto parts place a few years
back. The old one's windings had totally disintegrated, no insulation
at all left. Obviously a bad rebuild.
