Hey type 3ers!! Thank you for the suggestions on my car's tempermental transmission. I don't know how he got hooked into the email...but i've also found my Herbie and SUPERBUG tapes not rewound and filed in the wrong places...also some oil spots on the living room rug...but I can't PROVE anything weird is going on. Anyway I've checked the auto trans fluid many times, and had it changed at the garage. The level is ok. Haven't tried adjusting the linkage yet, but I can row the shifter through the gears and always engage reverse, but almost never a forward gear after the first time. Anymore suggestions??pleeeeeeezzzz??? Does anybody know wher I can get replacements for the plastic seat track rail covers? When I bought my SB several years ago, the former owner had replaced the fuel injection with a carb that was as big as the engine block!!!BIGGER!!!! well maybe not THAT big but it took up the whole rear cargo space..Really a bad setup for a SB! Luckily I had saved my dual 32s from my '66. I recently rebuilt them because you could slip a Buick sideways through the slop in the throttle shafts...it took a couple days to get all the linkage just right and the carbs in sync, but it runs great now. The actual point I'm trying to get to here is that there was no remains of a kickdown switch on my car when I got it..I've never even seen one so I can't fabricate one..When the kickdown switch is engaged by the throttle what gets switched where to make the car downshift? Does a switch get grounded or power applied to it?? Could someone explain it to me so I can hook one up and tell my car he's getting a TURBOCHARGER that will make him overtake other cars like the were standing still...... I have some really cool empi star wheels from my 63 bug.. How can I put these 5 bolt wheels on a 4 bolt car? Are there any rear drums that are interchangable? Can the disc be drilled for 5 bolts? Is the rotor circumference big enough? Has anyone done this before? Is it a stupid idea? Is anyone going tho PUNCH BUGGY 97 this Sunday at Atco raceway New Jersey? I'm going to try to find some bumpers for the SB. I guess I should shut up now.I promise to not write so much next time. thanx. Have a sparkling day! Allan.
