German License Plates

I recently saw a posting in the rec.autos.makers.vw.aircooled newsgroup from a gentleman in Germany that was selling German License plates. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this posting and had ordered a plate from him. I was also wondering how to dial his phone number (really dimb question I know, but ive never dialed overseas. The operator told me that I have to dial 011 then the country code then the city code then the local number. I dont know which is which. His number is 49 8161 69122. I tried it yesterday but with no success.

somebody help me!

BTW - He makes plates with ANY city code and custom letters for 35.00!! Not a bad deal if you ask me. I will let everyone know how they look and other details if I can ever get a hold of him!
