"How to Tune and Modify Bosch Fuel Injection" by Ben Watson,
Motorbooks International, ISBN 0879385707. It has a chapter dedicated to
D-Jetronic, and is very applied in approach. Each component is described
in detail, and a thorough problem-solving strategy is presented. Good
stuff. It's only 5 years old, so the author realizes the age of these
systems, that you don't have the factory tester, etc. etc.

One bit of warning--as you read different D-Jet books,
you'll find that one book's Temp Sensor I is another book's Temp
Sensor II. Forget the I & II; just start thinking "intake air temp
sensor" and "head temp sensor." (The latter is actually a coolant
temp sensor on water-cooled applications such as Volvo & Mercedes.)

Good luck!
