Suggestion re bad starting ................... Did you ever think of putting an in-line relay in the starter circuit, between the ignition switch and starter solenoid? It's quite simple, you buy a mini 6 volt 40 amp relay, fit it to the vertical bulkhead under the rear seat with terminals pointing downwards and connect as follows: Connect Terminal 85 to earth, behind the screw you attached the relay to the bulkhead with, making sure there is a good earth by scraping some of the paint off. Connect Terminal 30 straight to the live side of the battery with a fairly heavy wire say 6amp. Now the original wire coming from the ignition switch (usually terminal 50) to the solenoid is cut and the end coming from the ignition switch goes to Terminal 86, the other end from the solenoid goes to Terminal 87. All you have actually done is, using the relay as a sort of switch, looped a much shorter and heavied cable direct from the battery via the relay acting as a switch to the solenoid. this eliminates the current loss in the wire going all the way to the ignition switch and then back to operate the solenoid. The above, explained in more detail and with a diagram, is available on our Info Sheet No. 2/6. Andy - Oz T3 Register.
