Thanks for all the feedback from everyone. For those interested, the basic result of all the feedback was this: Don't ever do it! If you must do it in an emergency, follow these tips: 1. Turn off all accessories - lights, radio, etc. 2. Get an assistant. 3. Hook up the negative cables and the positive cable to the 12-volt battery 4. While you are cranking with the 6-volt battery (or while you are just holding the key in the cranking position), have the assistant touch (not clip) the positive cable to your 6-volt battery positive terminal. 5. As soon as the car starts, have the assistant pull away the jumper cable. 6. Rev the motor to get those 7-volts from the generator going!
