Ah ha the infamous tachometer for the type 3! Firstly they are rare.
Secondly if one is available, you must purchase it as they are going to
get more expensive. I searched for about 5 years half heartedly and then
one day called Shawn (on this group) and he said he found one somewhere
in California (I never did find out the details...) but anyway I did pay
a fair amount of money for it. Mine is a Gossen and there is also a VDO
one. I don't mind either but my preference is with the VDO. I am a bit
pissed off that at one show in Germany I ran out of money and then found
a NOS VDO tach, white needle and grey face (not sure if it was 6 or 12V
but that doesn't matter, for AUS$400 which is not a whole lot of money,
about $50 more than an Autometer tach with shift lite! I still can't
believe I ran out of money and then found one.
Good luck in finding one! Hope you don't want a red needle one as they
do not exist in great quantities. Even the white needle is rare.
Aaron.
