Re: Electronic Ignition for '70 FI Square

I am using the Pertronix Ignitor in my 009 distributor (I'm carbed) but I
do know that it will work for FI distributors. I am also using the Bug-Pak
from Jacobs Electronics and I *know* it works with FI. You will have the
best engine management system (mainly mileage and some power) if you
install the electronic points and computerized ignition in combination with
your FI (it's a goal I'm shootin' for).

Hello All! First, thanks to all of you that drop notes in on this
distribution... I've already tinkered in the garage for hours using your
info! So, here's my question: I have a '70 Square, with meddlesome Fuel
Injection, and have yet to find any printed media that explicitly states any
possible problems with installing an Electronic Ignition module in
combination with the FI BrainBox. Has anyone done this? How 'bout preferred
brandname? Pertronix? Compufire? Jacobs Electronics? I remember a feature
in VW Trends (or was that Hot VWs?) that showed the installation... as well
as some benchmarking... but no mention of integration with FI. Am I gonna
run into any problems with this?
