Just by accident I was in the local chain auto parts place, bugging the counterman about some Type III parts and happened to see an entry in the Beck-Arnley catalog he had, something about "FI Harness Repair Kit". I had him poke around and after some phone calls and another catalog's worth of looking, we managed to find that the crimp-on contacts for the MPC and control-unit plugs are still available! I'd been using what I'd been salvaging for the last 5 years and thought I'd never have enough to rewire the whole harness. My checkbook was smokin' when I found out they were still available. Two days later I had them in hand. So for you FI diehards that are holding the harness together with bailing wire and hope, here's the Beck-Arnley numbers, go pester your local parts place: Beck-Arnley No: 158-0005 MPC Contacts(2,3,4,5 contact plugs to the injectors and sensors) 158-0006 Control unit contacts 158-0009 Extractor tool These are not cheap, but where else are you going to get them? The extractor tool may not be necessary for some, I've found that a proper sized jeweler's screwdriver will work, too. You will also need a proper crimp tool, like a pair of pliers. Most of the ones I've seen in car parts places are for crimping large wires like spark-plug wires, you'll need ones that go considerably smaller. Try an electronics supply place. Don't use pliers, you'll just screw up your expensive contacts. I like to solder(tin) the wire before crimping, then apply the iron afterwards, just paranoid about permanent connections. While your at it, it's a great time to get some new boots on, mine seem to last about five years before splitting. The boots seem to hold the plugs in and provide a measure of strain relief, as far as I know, they're still available from WCM. Now for some teflon-coated wire and cable wrap....
