The continuing saga of rust repair... My heater channels have rusted through from the side of the car near the font of the door, forming three inch holes on either side. In addition, there are rust spots around several of the holes where the rocker trim? clips plug in. I was thinking of fiberglassing all of these holes, sanding/cutting away as much rust as possible. My questions are 1) will the hot air react with or melt the fiberglass or create fumes in some way and 2) what is the best way to treat the rust that has formed along the inside of the channels, particularly next to the pan and along the channel where it can not be seen or reached for sanding? I assume that sealing it up w/out some king of rustproofing or treatment would be a bad idea. Rich Mason 69 Squareback 71 Bus
