Should I replace it as well?? I'd like to see some good ideas, too. Here's what I have done. Buy carpet remnants and cut pieces to put over springs. Lay them face down so as the spring cuts through the carpet it will have to work it's way all the way through before your patch loses its structural integrity. Find an upholstery shop and buy fiber padding and good quality foam to cover, in that order, your carpet. The padding I can find here is a green fiber stuff that I find impossible to describe in words. Take apart your seats and watch carefully how they were originally done. If the replacement covers are good, you can duplicate the OE work. Do not use hog rings. You can reuse the wire and rods used in the OE front seat covers. Check out all the seat internal mechanisms while they are apart so you can fix anything that is broken now. If you have broken springs, you are probably best off finding a part with intact springs. This is hard work and will take time. You will be glad that you are doing this on one set while there is still a set in the car.
