Right, I should have explained this better: My switch is only active with
the ignition on, so while I don't have to run the starter, I do have the FI
energized. If you listen at the engine with the key on (engine off) while
you move the throttle you can hear the injectors firing as the extra
throttle valve contacts in the throttle valve switch make contact. It is
also true that this only works in the 70-3 cars since 68-9 didn't have the
extra throttle valve contacts.

Sorry, don't have the number of contacts memorized ;-) , but that is the
right idea. I THINK this only triggers one pair of injectors (depending on
the position of the trigger points in the bottom of the distributor), but
that has been enough to get me started.

I would also like to re-emphasize that most type IIIs don't seem to need
this treatment; they just start right up. I will be one happy fella the day
I finally figure out the REAL reason THIS car has been such a problem.

Been working on it. Up to about 30 pages so far; I figure that's about half
done. Sorry, but I think it's outgrown the FAQ stage; I was thinking more
of selling copies as a supplemental manual to the Bentley on D-Jetronix.
