Cooper, U are in luck, I did my door recently and have door mounted speakers >hey all- >a couple of questions. i've got some good ideas about the stereo mount, >so now the question is the speakers. i think i'm going for a door mount >(please, let's not throw any tomatoes at the nice boy) and my >drafting and modeling (no, not *that* kind of modeling) experience should >enable me to do a well-crafted job. my question is: what's the best way >to get the wires into the door? getting them there to that point should >be no problem, but do i drill a hole in the door, or is there a better >way? also, how do i keep the wires from binding up with the motion of the >door once they arte installed? The PO had run the wires around the door pillar, which let the rain in !. I drilled as small a hole as possibel in the door pillar on the body (fitted with a grommet) and then ran the wires through the pillar and through the door restaining straps hole in the door. > >second item. my driver's side window goes down only with great >difficulty. it seems to be binding up as it goes down in bursts, >accompanied by a creak-creak-creak-THUNK noise. it goes up with relative >smoothness, however. i pulled the door apart >today to see what i could see, but i saw nothing obvious, and now that >it's back together the >exterior handle is tough to use. am i a total moron? help! U need to pull the entire windo winder mechnaism out and make sure its all straight. Rotate the round disc on the end through 90 degrees if ti is worn flat. Grease it all up and put it back in. Bentley and Haynes have reasonble instructions ( i.e you can work it out better if you use both :) Regards, Steve Farmer --------------------------------------------------- Heads Together Systems Pty Ltd PO Box 461 Rozelle, NSW, 2039 Sydney, Australia Net: hts@hts.com.au Tel: 612 9982 6767 Fax: 612 9981 3081 Visit our Web Site at http://www.hts.com.au Minds are like parachutes, they work best when open.
