First, we have discussed using plain old weather stripping to replace
door/hatch seals. My hatch is sealed this way as is another person's on
this list. Second, window seals are an entirely different animal. I've
never heard of a generic window seal and if I did I don't think I would
trust it, primarily in terms of water integrity. If ya gotta have window
seals and don't want to pay a lot then you must go with the chromeless (Cal
Look) ones. Their seal is no different than stock -- my whole car is this
way.

I'm told no, and no rear hatch seals available.
No NOS and no repro. Did I mention that Squareback rear
hatch seals are not available?
OTOH, the WCM catalogue lists this part for $119.00
I did NOT call them because I do not have $119.00 plus
shipping to spend on this seemingly insubstatial auto part.
I mean, for two of those, I could get a rebuilt transmission :-)
I understand neither the pricing nor the availability of
VW rubber. I also cannot believe there is no "generic"
"stuff" from JCW or even AutoZone (ugh) that will be the
poor man's fix for both door seals and window seals.
